Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, and Newfoundland ship from our Toronto hub via scheduled eastern runs. Coastal corrosion engineering is standard on all Atlantic-destined buildings.
The Bottom Line: Eastern runs from Toronto happen on a 2–3 week grouping schedule. Typical quoted delivery: Quebec 1 day, New Brunswick 2 days, Nova Scotia 2–3 days, PEI 3 days (Confederation Bridge), Newfoundland 5–8 days (ferry scheduling).
Quebec is the largest market east of Toronto. The major clusters: the Eastern Townships (dairy and beef farming), the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean area (forestry and agricultural), and the St. Lawrence corridor farming communities.
Documentation is available in English or French. Our structural engineering stamps are recognized by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) — the Quebec provincial construction authority. For any building over 25 m² in a non-agricultural zone you'll need an RBQ licence-holder on the project; we typically refer customers to a Quebec-licensed installer partner. For strictly ag-use buildings on ag-zoned rural land, the RBQ exemption applies.
New Brunswick farming is concentrated in the Saint John River Valley and the southeast corner near Moncton. Delivery from Toronto via the 401/20/2 corridor is typically a 2-day run. Fredericton is 1,306 km from our Toronto hub, Moncton is 1,386 km.
The NB Building Code follows the National Building Code closely. Our documentation meets NB requirements without modification. Coastal sites within 1 km of the Bay of Fundy should use the optional stainless hardware upgrade due to salt exposure.
Nova Scotia agriculture concentrates in the Annapolis Valley and along the South Shore. Dairy, apple orchards, and blueberry operations are common use-cases for our 50x80 and 40x80 buildings. Delivery runs Toronto → Moncton → over the NS border via Amherst; typical transit is 2.5 days.
PEI is accessed via the Confederation Bridge from Cape Tormentine, NB. Our 53' trailers are pre-approved for the bridge; no scheduling complication beyond standard ferry-grade weight rules. Island-wide delivery adds a half day on top of NS timing.
NL delivery is genuinely different from the rest of Canada. Buildings travel Toronto → Marine Atlantic ferry from North Sydney, NS → Port aux Basques or Argentia, NL → onward by road. Total transit is 5–8 business days depending on ferry scheduling (the route runs year-round but has weather cancellations in winter).
We've shipped to the Avalon Peninsula, central Newfoundland near Gander, and the western Codroy Valley. All-in delivered pricing is quoted up front — the ferry cost is real ($2,400–$3,800 for a commercial trailer one-way depending on length and season) and we absorb it on orders over $15,000. For smaller orders it's itemized transparently.
Atlantic Canada customers benefit from coastal-spec engineering as standard on all orders east of Quebec City. That means:
For direct salt-spray sites (marinas, fish processing, within 300 m of open ocean), we recommend the stainless hardware upgrade ($340 on a 40x80, $520 on 50x100+).
See the Toronto-to-Atlantic delivery guide for detailed logistics on eastern runs.
Oui.
Eastern runs group on a 2–3 week schedule based on order volume. If you're a priority delivery we can expedite with a dedicated truck, which adds approximately $1,800–$2,400 depending on destination. Otherwise your building joins the next scheduled run and the delivery window is confirmed when you order.
Yes. Our G90 galvanizing and UV-stabilized PVC are designed for exactly this exposure. The oldest customer-installed building we have in coastal Nova Scotia is 19 years old and still in service. For sites within 300 m of direct ocean spray we recommend the stainless hardware upgrade.
Your building gets the next available crossing. We absorb the cost of the additional ferry booking and the driver's extra overnight. Our NL customers are told up front that winter shipping has a 48–72 hour weather buffer in typical cases.
