Edmonton → Grande Prairie — Peace Country Delivery

456 km northwest on Highway 43. Peace Country is one of our highest-volume markets — grain farms, oil-and-gas service companies, and ranches across northern Alberta.

Route & Timing

Highway 43 runs Edmonton → Whitecourt → Fox Creek → Valleyview → Grande Prairie. 456 km total, about 5.5 hours solo drive time. Our Grande Prairie deliveries typically run as a long same-day (leave Edmonton 6am, deliver by 1pm) or as a comfortable overnight at Fox Creek.

In winter, Highway 43 can close temporarily for Arctic outflow events or heavy snow in the Fox Creek stretch. Our drivers check 511 Alberta before each run and adjust timing if needed.

Peace Country Market

Grande Prairie, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, and the Peace River farming region represent one of our three highest-volume markets in Canada. Typical applications:

Free Delivery

Grande Prairie (456 km) and everywhere in Peace Country up to and including Fort St. John (590 km) is inside our 888 km free-delivery zone. No freight surcharge. Beyond Fort St. John — Fort Nelson, Watson Lake, Whitehorse — you enter the per-km freight tier.

Winter & Cold Operation

Peace Country sees -40°C regularly in January and February. The standard cold-climate fastener package applies to all northern Alberta and BC Peace deliveries (rated to -55°C brittleness threshold). The 750g PVC cover stiffens below -30°C but tensions normally once the building is up and the ambient air temperature is stable. Our installer partners in the Peace country have done multiple -35°C install days.

The Alaska Highway Option

If you're at the top end of Peace Country (Fort Nelson, Watson Lake), you're effectively on the Alaska Highway corridor. We can route through Dawson Creek or direct up Highway 97, depending on road conditions. Dawson Creek is Milepost Zero of the Alaska Highway — that route is well-travelled year-round by commercial trucks.

See the Prairies region page for broader northern Alberta context, or the BC Pacific region for deliveries further into BC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Grande Prairie a same-day delivery from Edmonton?

Yes, if we start early. Most Grande Prairie deliveries leave Edmonton between 5am and 7am and drop by early afternoon. For anything later-arriving, we'll overnight at Fox Creek or Valleyview for the driver's mandatory rest and deliver the next morning.

Do you deliver to Fort Nelson?

Fort Nelson is 1,242 km from Edmonton — outside the free zone. Typical additional freight runs $1,800–$2,400 depending on time of year. We deliver there regularly; the route is the Alaska Highway and it's well-maintained.

What about High Level, Fort Vermilion, or La Crete?

All inside the free zone. High Level is 735 km from Edmonton, and the far-north Alberta farming communities (Fort Vermilion, La Crete) are just past it. We have a solid Mennonite farmer customer base in La Crete and the La Crete ferry crossing is not an issue for our trailers.

Do you coordinate install crews in the Peace country?

Yes — we have installer partners in the Grande Prairie area who can assemble your building if you don't want to do it yourself. They work on a published price list similar to ours. We can coordinate scheduling as part of your order.
